Sandy. Sandy. Sandy. Sandy...

Like a lot of you. I'm still sort of in a semi state of shock.

I mean we all live for big storms. Surfers. We feed off of the big Nor'easters, Tropical Storms, and Hurricanes. Yet that old saying of "Be Careful of What You Wish For" comes true we all sort of step back and shake our heads in disbelief. We feel guilty.

Seeing the death and destruction in New Jersey and New York was a sobering account of what these storms are truly capable of. With over 100 dead so far, and hundreds more injured. The Super Storm SANDY was an ass kicking storm that took it's toll on the seacoast communities from Jersey to NYC.

Those of us who live up north are all breathing a sigh of relief. I mean a slight shift in it's track could of easily have put Sandy on a course with New England and we would still be without power. As it is now some 8 million have lost power. And if that was not bad enough, there's another storm coming. A Nor'easter.

There are ways to help should you be so inclined. Click on this
banner above to find out how. Or simply go to the Red Cross website and they can help direct you in ways in which you can help. I know this is hard for some of the hardcore surfers to swallow. But our dreams, are someone else's nightmares.

And that is a dilemma for Surfers. I don't know of any surfer who would knowingly sacrifice someone's home of life for good surf. Or put it this way, if I did, I would not associate myself with that selfish individual for long. I believe that 99% of all surfers are compassionate towards our fellow human beings.

So if you want to help, these two graphics will take you there.

As I've just written, another storm is heading up the Eastern seaboard. Damn. A Nor'easter. With wind and rain and of course high surf. Just what they don't need in Jersey or NY.

Please God spare those who have just suffered during SANDY.

I know a lot of you know about the "Whale Mural" in Portsmouth, NH. That famous mural is now in jeopardy of being removed forever in place of a Parking Garage. If you want to help SAVE THE WHALE Painting go to this site and voice your opinion.

Contact City Councilors by phone, email, or letters. Or go to the website and email them directly by clicking on Mural above.

I think we can all use a good laugh. Local comic Jimmy Dunn has a great NEW book out called...BOAT HACK. JImmy is a local surfer who also happens to be a National Comic and author...check it out.

Now for Some Of My Weekly Global Observances:

This is it kids. One of these two will be our President after Tuesday.

GET OUT AND VOTE on Tuesday. Don't bitch and moan about the way things are. DO something about it. GO VOTE! There is one common thread that runs through all of us...won't it be nice once these INSANE political ads stop running! Good Lord, I think I'd rather watch Here Comes HONEY BOO BOO re-runs then sit through any more political ads...wait, that's not true. But I will be glad when this thing is over.

VOTE ON TUESDAY NOVEMBER 6th, 2012! VOTE!

Hurricane Sandy did a number on KSM and his fellow Terrorists at GITMO. The toilets overflowed, the water ruined the prayer courts, it
was just terrible. But our boy Khaliddy was able to survive the shit storm. Here he is swimming through his cell ad mist all the jetsam and flotsam. The smell was horrific. Hence the miserable look on KSM's face. Wait, oh never mind, he's always miserable.

Note to self: Must pick up a case of TIDY BOWL at Home Depot.

Patriots are on a BYE week. They kicked the Rams ass last week. The AFC East is still all over the place. It's going to be an interesting year.

Yesterday- Forty Years. Same exact spot. Same exact surfer. Kevin "Doc" Grondin... October 1972-October 2012.
(Below) No I am not on a Kevin Grondin kick. But I just so happened to be standing on the rocks the other day shooting Kevin during Sandy, when it dawned on me. I had been shooting him at this spot for 40 straight years. Come on people! That's insane!

our waves and more importantly, it was his first time in a wetsuit. He was so stoked

good surfer who could switchfoot at ease.
I hope he enjoys this blog and all the pics
